Naked Girls Reading NYC - From what I've read and heard it is essentially a group of burlesque ladies that perform readings of various literature completely unclothed (no pasties or anything). So far as I know tickets continue to be available. But I'll be waiting for Naked Guys reading A Christmas Carol.
My buddy Sandy sent me a past review he wrote of Nude Girls Reading Science Fiction from last winter. Read on for an intriguing and well-written review!
"I went to Nude Girls Reading Science Fiction for various reasons, not necessarily in this order:
I 've long had a curiosity about the status of nudity in this country, heightened by all the reading I've been doing since Serge began with the early 20th Century German writings. So I was wondering what the hell nudity is used for now.


1) Sure - went to see the pretty nude girls. (They were indeed pretty and naked.)
( AN INTRODUCTION TO NATURISM , in this case, is non-sexual, but still really hot, "performance art".) (What's the hot/sexual difference? It was unabashedly sexy with a grin and a twinkle in the eye, and consequently not lusty.) (Eroticism takes itself quite seriously.)

3) I am curious about my own answers to nudity under different circumstances.
nr 3 - my responses. I was quite aware of Parmelee's utopian dream of a society in which nudity would be totally average - an acceptable costume under all circumstances. With that in mind, last night's nudity having little or nothing related to the readings can be interpreted as nudity being only a preferred costume fashion.
When The dominant idea that clothing is necessary for reasons of modesty is a cultural assumption. It is an am at Rock Lodge, I see nudity as being totally average. Last night, for the most part, I found it not normal in any respect. Why? Because from the title of the show alone it was presented as a special component, presumed to be sexy, which drew folks in although it failed to contribute to the reading of science fiction.
As Peninsula is more than safe; it's completely friendly, service-oriented, and to that, my reaction shifted depending on accessories. All the girls were naked from crotch to collar bone.
The others wore differing combinations of stockings, gloves, hats, bizarre make up and big jewelry; their nudity was not normal at all; I experienced (delightful) discomfort and I was a voyeur. With the girls last night, other body parts were covered, bringing very sexual attention to the bare crotch-to-collar-bone region.
Picture this: The stage is four feet away and is raised four feet. If attention-wanders from science fiction, one can't help pondering the comparative effectiveness of waxing. Really difficult not to be a voyeur! (So I did not try.)
A very interesting facet of last night was that the middle-class crowd of around 50 was about 1/3 average seeming women of varying ages, evidencing to me that the times they're a-changin', that nudity isn't such a big deal and is OK as a performance costume when it is not merely a peep-show.
Bottom line: I loved it for multiple reasons, I am on their email list and I probably will go again (even though their show next month will be Naked Girls Reading Tween Lit)."
